On September 11, 2001, when U.S. airspace was suddenly closed, 38 planes carrying thousands of travelers were diverted to the tiny town of Gander, Newfoundland. What began as a day of fear and uncertainty quickly transformed into an extraordinary display of generosity, compassion, and human connection. In a place known as “The Rock,” strangers became neighbors, cultures intertwined, and simple acts of kindness changed lives forever.

Featuring a dynamic ensemble cast, a vibrant score, and storytelling that moves seamlessly between humor and heartbreak, Come From Away reminds us what is possible when we lead with empathy. From anxious passengers unsure of what awaits them, to the townspeople who turn schools, churches, and community halls into shelters, the show captures the resilience of the human spirit during one of history’s most difficult days.
